Retail Store Manager – Kingsville

Job Description:
The Retail Store Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Pelee Island Winery retail store. This role involves managing staff, ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining inventory, executing events, and achieving sales targets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retail management, a passion for wine, and exceptional leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Store Operations Management:
– Oversee the daily operations of the retail store, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
– Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing store environment.
– Implement and uphold company policies and procedures.

Customer Service:
– Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service.
– Address and resolve customer inquiries and complaints promptly and professionally.
– Foster a welcoming and educational atmosphere for customers to enhance their wine-buying experience.

Sales and Marketing:
– Work with marketing team to develop and implement strategies to achieve sales targets and maximize store profitability.
– Monitor and analyze sales performance, adjusting strategies as needed.
– Coordinate with Marketing Team to create in-store promotions, events, and wine tastings to drive sales and enhance brand awareness.

Inventory Management:
– Manage inventory levels, ensuring adequate stock while minimizing overstock and waste.
– Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
– Collaborate with suppliers and the purchasing team to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement.

Staff Management:
– Recruit, train, and supervise retail staff, fostering a motivated and high-performing team.
– Schedule staff shifts and manage payroll within budgetary constraints.
– Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.

Financial Management:
– Prepare and manage the store budget, ensuring financial goals are met.
– Handle cash management, including daily reconciliations and bank deposits.
– Generate and analyze financial reports to track store performance and identify areas for improvement.

Qualifications:
– Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in retail management, preferably in the wine or hospitality industry.
– Strong knowledge of wines and a passion for the wine industry.
– Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
– Proven ability to achieve sales targets and manage budgets.
– Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
– Proficiency in retail management software, MS Office, Square, HubSpot & OpenTable.
– Availability to work weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings for events.
