We are happy to announce a Gold Medal for our brand-new Method Traditional sparkling Empress II in the 2022 Ontario Wine Awards!

A passion project for our winemaker Martin Janz, 100% Riesling grapes were hand selected from our vineyards on Pelee Island. Empress II is the embodiment of Pelee Island’s winemaking team’s masterful techniques and commitment to excellence with its subtle aromas of orchard fruit and fresh lemon, followed by a long gentle and toasty finish.

In 1894 L’Empereur Method Traditional was first produced on Pelee Island, 128 years later the process for this method of sparkling production remains the exact same, the name Empress II is a nod to the long history of winemaking on Pelee Island.
