We are honoured to once again be pairing with the Windsor/Essex Humane Society for their Doggy Bag Delivery, a Gala-in-a-bag event on Thursday, July 22nd.
What is Doggy Bag Delivery?
The incredible culinary team of Mezzo Ristorante is preparing a 3-course meal for two. Each course will be paired with a wine from us here at Pelee Island Winery. It will also include event wine glasses and WECHS merchandise. And yes, all that is delivered right to your door by WECHS volunteers.

Purr-fect Pairings for Dinner
Appetizer
Spinach salad purr-fect paired with Pelee Island Winery Sauvignon Blanc VQA. This varietal is one of our summer favourites and salad pairing go-tos. It works here because higher acid food matches with the higher acidity in the wine. It’s like a squeeze of fresh lemon making your tastebuds pop.
Main Course
Your choice of Beef Tenderloin or Vegan Eggplant Parmigiano. Both of these dishes pair purr-fectly with Pelee Island Winery Cabernet Franc VQA as it has plenty of weight and flavour to stand up to the dense flavour of both dishes.
Dessert
A handmade chocolate offering from Mezzo’s Pastry Chef with Secco VQA. Because chocolate and sparkling! Enough said.

The Windsor/Humane Society team does an amazing job getting to know the “personality” of each of the animals that stays with them. Reviewing these write-ups offers insight into how each animal will fit with you. “Feline-alities” include Private Investigator or Sidekick. “Canine-alities” range from Goofball to Life of the Party.
Their staff members, foster humans and volunteers all work together as a team to match each animal with their new home. One in which they will thrive and find their way into the hearts of their new families.
