Bruno Friesen: Viticulturalist. Bruno obtained his Bsc. in Agriculture from Guelph University (Honours Program) Bruno is originally from Rio Grande Do Sul, Brazil, where he obtained considerable agricultural experience that has allowed him to integrate dozens of environment-first programs on winery land.

The company has a strong belief in the preservation of the environment, and Bruno has been instrumental in using a protocol for integrated pest management developed with the support from the World Wildlife Fund Canada (WWF). Additionally, Pelee Island Winery is committed to the limited use of ecologically responsible pesticide spraying and usage of “all natural” island grown fertilizer. These are just two ways that Bruno has elevated the standard of our vineyards above and beyond current regulations and guidelines.
