PRINCIPAL DUTIES

• Serve and prepare customer's orders from Deli Hut Counter.


• Create new ideas for menu items


• Use manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel and slice food items.


• Portion and wrap food.


• Stock fridges and freezers.


• Wash, peel, cut, vegetables and fruit.


• Clean and sanitize kitchen, including: work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances and equipment.


• Remove kitchen garbage and trash.


• Sweep and mop floors.


• Sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand.


• Clear and clean tables, and trays.


• Clean BBQ Hut area (BBQ's, sweep area)


• Verify empty propane tanks and replace with full tanks.


• Prepare and barbeque food for group tours and Pelee Island Winery VIP's.


• Calculate daily payments received, and reconcile with total sales.


• Conduct a monthly inventory.


• Perform miscellaneous job related duties as assigned.

SPECIFIC SKILLS

• Culinary knowledge and/or training.


• Knowledge of wine an asset.


• Good customer service skills.


• Punctual, reliable and energetic.


• Ability to operate a computerized cash register and process money, cheque and credit/debit card payments an asset.


• Ability to work as a team and/or independently.


• Asset but not required are Retail experience, Smart Serve Certificate.


• Some heavy lifting required.


• Sweep and mop floors.


• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

• Available to work either:
  Beginning of May to Labour Day OR
  Beginning of May to end of October.


• Must be able to work weekends (mandatory Friday to Sunday)


• Seasonal Temporary Full-Time (minimum 40 hrs per week)


• Accommodations are provided at No Charge on Pelee Island (Refundable Deposit only)


• Wage $9.00 per hour plus bonus.
